Unveiled on September 14, 2026, this comprehensive hardware and software overhaul is explicitly designed to drag artificial intelligence out of the research lab and directly onto the factory floor.
By pairing a completely reengineered control box and teach pendant with the new PolyScope X operating system, the company is delivering an out-of-the-box solution that is
fully prepared for advanced physical AI deployments.
Redefining the Collaborative Arm
The new platform introduces three distinct g-Series robot arms: the UR10g-1750, UR17g-1300, and UR18g-950. These models are specifically named to reflect their respective payload capacities and reach distances. What truly sets this generation apart is the innovative tool flange. Instead of relying on messy, external cabling, the flange delivers high-bandwidth data, power, and safety protocols directly to the end-effector.
This streamlined architecture supports the heavy computational demands of real-time machine vision, while
built-in force-torque sensing and impedance control give the machines a genuine sense of touch for delicate, force-sensitive assembly tasks.
Intelligent Control and Native Edge Processing
At the heart of the system lies the CB7 Core controller, which packs 40 percent more computing power into a significantly reduced physical footprint. This compact powerhouse eliminates the need for bulky external network switches by natively connecting to PLCs, vision systems, and manufacturing execution platforms. Paired with the 20 percent lighter TP7 teach pendant and the detachable SP7 Smart Panel, operators can program complex sequences right at the point of action.
Furthermore, the PolyScope X software environment features open APIs and native ROS2 communication, actively
reducing integration friction for advanced automation by allowing developers to run edge-AI applications directly onboard without external processing units.
