The fastest way to improve a

Not every query needs all seven fields. A simple factual search may need only task, time and evidence. A serious Research run benefits from all of them.

Write searchable questions, not conversational fog
Perplexity can interpret natural language, but specificity improves retrieval.
Name the entity
“What changed in its privacy policy?” is weak if the thread includes several companies. Write the company and policy.
Separate event date from article date
Ask when something happened and when it was reported. A July article may summarize a June announcement.
Define “best”
Replace “best laptop” with the buyer’s budget, operating system, workload, battery target, country and acceptable trade-offs.
Specify a source hierarchy
For product pricing, prefer the vendor’s current pricing and help pages. For legislation, prefer the official legal text. For a company’s financial performance, prefer filings or audited statements where available.
Ask for disconfirmation

Use source constraints intelligently

Primary sources can document what an organization said or did. They do not automatically provide an independent assessment of whether the claim is true.

- open one or two relevant pages;

Do not infer that a certification covers every product, region or data type.
12. Analyze an uploaded report

Create a Project when the work shares a stable topic, source set or instruction—not merely because the feature exists.
Write a project instruction
A useful instruction might state:
This Project covers [scope]. Prefer [source classes]. Use [terminology]. Treat [documents] as background, not automatically current. When web and internal sources conflict, show both. Never publish or contact anyone. End every research output with unresolved questions.
Curate the source set
Remove superseded versions. Name files with dates. Keep a source register. A Project containing 500 undifferentiated files is not necessarily more useful than one containing 20 authoritative documents.

Use an explicit temporal protocol:
Use information available through [date]. For every time-sensitive claim, provide both the source publication date and the event or effective date. Recheck prices, officeholders, model names, product availability, litigation status and regulations on a current primary source. How to avoid citation laundering
Citation laundering occurs when a weak claim looks stronger because it appears beside a reputable link.
Watch for:
- one citation attached to a sentence containing several different facts;
